Michal Plonski
pl: Michał Płoński
[15.01.1782 Warsaw - 02.06.1812 Warsaw]
One of the best and most important pupils of Jean Pierre Norblin, just as Aleksander Orlowski. He co-operated with his master during works on decoration of Arcadia of Nieborow. In Norblin's workshop Plonski learnt graphic techniques and became passionate of Rembrandt, to whose achievements in etching he remained faithful until death. In year of 1802 he published, in Amsterdam and Paris, where he used to work, a portfolio of nineteen aquafortes presenting various human types. It was his greatest work. By the end of life Plonski returned to Warsaw, where he died in a mental hospital a year later.
