Jan Polack
pl: Jan Polack
[1435(?) Cracow - 1519 Munich]
Jan Polack (Latin version of the artist name - Johannes Polonus) was born in Cracow, probably in 1435. Since 1475, when he moved to Munich as a wedding assist to Jadwiga the Jagiellonian, he was active in Bavaria. His art reveals influences as well of Veit Stoss sculpture as the achievements of the local painting of the Lesser Poland. His works are owned by the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Museo del Prado in Madrid.
